State Employee's Holiday Open House
Special care is taken to prepare the Governor's Mansion for some of our most special guests as Kentucky's state employees are invited in to visit the Governor and First Lady, view the holiday decorations and enjoy some of the seasons most delicious treats. It's an annnual traditon for many. So make your plans to stop by and see the People's House in the holiday spirit. (This is a special, private event for Kentucky State Employees and their guests.)
Easter Egg Roll at the Governor's Mansion
Children from all across the Commonwealth are invited to Kentucky's Executive Residence for the annual Easter Egg Roll at the Governor's Mansion. Join hundreds of your fellow young Kentuckians for games, stories, treats and an Easter Egg Roll on the Mansion's north lawn. It's lots of fun and everyone is a winner!
First Lady's Celebration of Hope
The annual First Lady's “Celebration of Hope” is held at the Governor’s Mansion to honor breast cancer survivors from all across the Commonwealth. Hundreds gather in the Celebration Tent the week before the Kentucky Derby to eat, sing, fellowship and celebrate life in the midst of their struggle.
The Governor's Derby Celebration Open House
Kentuckians by the tens of thousands make their way to the state capitol the first Saturday in May every year to celebrate Kentucky's most notable annual event. While you're in town, be sure to stroll the lovely front gardens off Capitol Avenue to the Governor's Mansion. The house is filled with beautiful floral arrangements full of every imaginable color marking this day as the very special occasion it is.
Trick-or-Treat at the Governor's Mansion
Just like most other homes in the capitol city, we turn on the porch light at the People's House and invite families from all across the Commonwealth to join us for some fun and friendly trick-or-treating at the Governor's Mansion. We're decorating for the occasion with spider webs, jack o' lanterns, fodder shocks and lots of special surprises. Come join the Governor and First Lady for a fun night of neat treats and happy haunts.
